Catamarca's National Poncho Festival Returns July 17‑26

Catamarca province will host the 55th Fiesta Nacional e Internacional del Poncho from July 17 to July 26 at the Predio Ferial Catamarca. The ten‑day celebration showcases local and regional artisans, with an international craft fair featuring ceramics, textiles and leatherwork, and a food program of more than 90 food trucks and several restaurants.

The festival’s music lineup includes performances by Pimpinela, Los Nocheros, Chango Spasiuk, Abel Pintos, Fito Páez and other national acts across multiple stages, three of which are free to the public. Organisers aim to surpass last year’s record of over 1.4 million visitors, positioning the event as a key driver of tourism and cultural exposure for the province.

In addition to the main fair, the provincial tourism office promotes a broader winter agenda, with events such as the Fiesta del Tamal in San Antonio, classic‑car gatherings in Andalgalá, and local cultural activities in Santa María and Tinogasta, all intended to highlight Catamarca’s heritage, gastronomy and natural landscapes.
