Catamarca's Poncho 2026 Festival Announces Jury and Full Event Schedule
The 55th National and International Poncho Festival (Poncho 2026) will run from July 17 to 26 in Catamarca, Argentina, at the Predio Ferial venue. A five‑member jury—textile artisan Mónica Rita del Valle Reynoso, basketry specialist Lorenzo Reyes, goldsmith David Correa, visual artist Carolina del Valle Paradela, and archaeologist Néstor Kriscautzky—will select the Best Poncho and award winners across categories such as metal, stone, vegetable fiber, leather, clay, wood, and fusion design. A separate design jury comprising visual arts professor Noelia Zurita Perea, architect María Celeste Marcolli, and industrial designer Federico Scaltriti will judge creative and sustainable products.
The festival features ten consecutive days of music, dance, gastronomy and cultural shows across four main stages—Escenario Mayor, El Patio, Mercado Cultural and the Tourism Pavilion—plus a sunset concert at the Bicentennial Stadium on July 20. Notable performers include Pimpinela, Los Nocheros, Los Tekis and Chango Spasiuk. The award ceremony is slated for July 23 at 11:00 a.m. in the Tourism Pavilion.
