Catania and Atalanta ready for August transfer window and club duties
Italian Serie C side Catania is working to meet the federation deadline of 3 August, having secured roughly 70 % of the required funding and aiming to cover the remaining 30 % by the end of the week. The club continued its pre‑season camp in Norcia, following a program set by technical director Emilio Longo. In the Coppa Italia Serie C, Catania will enter at the second‑round stage, facing the winner of the Casertana‑Savoia tie. On the transfer front, Catania officially signed midfielder Amendola from Sassuolo, terminated the contract of Gregorio Luperini by mutual consent, and is close to ending the deal of Di Noia. A multi‑year partnership with Infront is set to become the operational partner for the club.
Atalanta is also preparing for a busy August market as Maurizio Sarri looks to balance player sales with targeted acquisitions. The focus is on reinforcing the midfield with a quality playmaker – candidates such as Jashari have been mentioned – and adding an attacking winger or striker to boost goal output, with Alajbegovic among the names considered. The club aims to build a competitive squad for the upcoming Serie A campaign and the Conference League, while managing a roster of over 30 players.
