Catania and Gallipoli sign twinning agreement

Catania and Gallipoli have officially signed a twinning agreement in the name of Sant’Agata. The pact was signed in the council chamber of the Municipality of Gallipoli by Mayors Enrico Trantino and Flavio Fasano, in the presence of various civil and ecclesiastical authorities.

The agreement aims to strengthen religious, cultural, touristic, and economic ties between the two communities, united by their shared devotion to the patron saint. The ceremony is part of the celebrations marking the ninth centenary of the discovery of a relic of Sant’Agata in Salento. Events include religious celebrations, cultural and musical appointments, and a photography exhibition.
