Catania begins demolition of dangerous building in historic center

Demolition operations have commenced on a dangerous building located in via Grottamagna within the historic center of Catania. The intervention aims to eliminate a structural risk to public safety and improve the urban decorum of the neighborhood.

Giuseppe Buglio, a counselor for the I Municipality of Catania, stated that the start of the construction site is a concrete response to requests from local residents. He noted that the building had long been a significant risk factor for pedestrians and a source of urban decay.
