Catania citizen returns 20,000 euros in found savings bonds to police

A citizen in Catania found a package of old postal savings bonds on the street near Piazza Teatro Massimo and turned them in to the police. The documents, originally worth six million lire, have accrued interest over many years, bringing their total value to approximately 20,000 euros.

Police at the Catania Central Station are working to identify the rightful owner. The owner of the bonds has reportedly been living in London for over a decade.
