Catania defeats Picerno 4-2 to secure first away win

Catania secured a decisive 4-2 away victory against Picerno in a Serie C match, marking their first away win of the season. The match was defined by a rapid offensive burst from Catania, who scored three goals in just four minutes during the first half through Ierardi, Bruzzaniti, and Cavuoti. Although Picerno attempted a late comeback with two goals from Abreu, Catania held on to secure the three points.

The victory provides significant relief for Catania manager Emilio Longo, who had recently faced intense pressure and rumors regarding his potential dismissal following a poor start to the season. Longo addressed the speculation, stating that such news can serve as motivation for his players to fight harder. He emphasized the team's progress in establishing a clear playing identity through high pressing.

Individual performances were notable, particularly from Nicolò Cavuoti, who scored during the match to boost his confidence following his move from Cagliari. Looking ahead, Catania prepares to host Barletta at the Massimino stadium.
