Catania health authority launches free mammography Open Days

The Azienda Sanitaria Provinciale (ASP) of Catania is holding a series of free mammography screening Open Days across the province. From 6 – 13 August, six sessions will run without appointments, each from 08:00 to 12:00 at locations including the Pedara polyclinic, Caltagirone Hospital and Giarre PTA, as well as San Luigi PTA in Catania. The programme will continue after the summer break with additional dates in August and September at sites such as San Giorgio PTA, Acireale, Biancavilla, Militello and Vizzini.

The screening is part of the regional oncology prevention plan and is offered at no cost to women aged 50‑69, with a biennial schedule. No referral from a general practitioner is required. Participants can call a toll‑free number for information and assistance.
