Catania hosts Bianchi di Sicilia wine event with record attendance

The fourth edition of ‘Bianchi di Sicilia – Il sole nel calice’ concluded in Catania, drawing a record 2,500 attendees. Organized by AIS Catania, AIS Sicilia, Piazza Scammacca, and Sullaluna, the event featured over 130 wineries and more than 700 wine labels for tasting.

In addition to the tastings held in Piazza Università, the event included three sold-out masterclasses covering Sicilian olive oil, Burgundy Chardonnay, and Sicilian vintage wines. The program also addressed environmental challenges through a conference titled ‘The grape seeks height,’ which discussed high-altitude viticulture and the impact of climate change on the historical identity of wine terroirs.

Cultural activities accompanied the wine event, including book presentations, photography exhibitions, jazz music, and creative workshops.
