Catania police arrest international fugitive at port

Italian State Police arrested a Tunisian national at the port of Catania who was traveling on a vessel bound for the Aeolian Islands. The individual was identified by Border Police during routine passenger and crew checks conducted at the maritime station.

The man was the subject of an Interpol notice and an arrest warrant for extradition to Tunisia related to drug offenses. Following the identification and completion of necessary legal procedures, the individual was taken into custody in Catania and remains at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
