Catania police arrest two men after cocaine seizure

Two young men from Licata have been arrested in Catania after Carabinieri discovered over 300 grams of cocaine hidden inside a vehicle's engine compartment.

During a nighttime patrol aimed at combating widespread illegality, officers intercepted a car driven by a 24-year-old with a 20-year-old passenger. Following an initial period of uncooperative behavior from the occupants, officers conducted a search that revealed a vacuum-sealed cellophane package concealed within the engine bay.

Authorities seized the narcotics, noting that the quantity and packaging indicated the drugs were intended for distribution rather than personal use. Both individuals face charges of joint possession of narcotics for the purpose of drug dealing. The judicial authority has validated the arrests, imposing house arrest and a requirement to report to the judicial police.
