Catania police dismantle illegal weapons modification laboratory
Police in Catania have dismantled an illegal weapons modification laboratory located in a garage in the Librino district. Authorities discovered a 28-year-old man using the facility to alter and modify firearms.
During the raid, which included the use of explosive-detection canine units, officers seized two pistols undergoing modification, a bulletproof vest, two masks, and two exploded projectiles. The site was equipped with tools for metalworking, including a lathe, and featured a makeshift testing bench used to verify the functionality of the weapons. Additionally, police recovered ammunition components and stolen vehicle parts, such as doors and optical groups from a Fiat Panda.
