Catania police suspend two bars for seven days over criminal gatherings

The Questore of Catania ordered a seven‑day suspension of two establishments—a bar in Biancavilla and a kiosk‑bar in the Monte Po district of Catania—after police investigations determined they had become regular meeting points for individuals with criminal records. Reported offenses linked to the venues include theft, robbery, drug trafficking, illegal weapons possession, mafia association, fraud and sexual violence.

The measures were taken under article 100 of the Italian Public Security Code (TULPS) and were notified by the local police stations in Adrano and Nesima. Authorities said the closures aim to protect public order and deter dangerous gatherings in public venues.
