Catania Prosecutor General Post Opens as Seven Candidates Compete for Succession

Carmelo Zuccaro, the current Prosecutor General of Catania, will vacate his post on 16 August after reaching the mandatory retirement age. The Italian Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSM) has received seven applications to succeed him. The candidates are:

- Giuseppe Lucantonio, Prosecutor General of Catanzaro - Emanuele Crescenti, Prosecutor of Palmi - Sabrina Gambino, Prosecutor of Siracusa - Renato Nitti, Prosecutor of Trani - Francesco Puleio, Prosecutor of Ragusa - Agata Santonocito, Added Prosecutor of Catania - Laura Vaccaro, Added Prosecutor of Palermo

The Fifth Commission of the CSM will assess the dossiers and forward a proposal to the Plenum for a vote, which will determine the next head of the Catania prosecutor’s office.
