Catania’s Picciriddi disappearance revisited on Rai 1

The Rai 1 program ‘Cose Nostre’ will feature a dedicated episode on the ‘Picciriddi’ of San Cristoforo, focusing on the disappearance of four teenagers in Catania on July 7, 1976. The victims, Giovanni La Greca, Lorenzo Pace, Riccardo Cristaldi, and Benedetto Zuccaro, were between 13 and 15 years old at the time of their disappearance.

The investigation into the case has long been hindered by a wall of silence. Historical accounts and statements from justice collaborator Antonino ‘Nino’ Calderone, which were also part of investigations involving Judge Giovanni Falcone, suggest the youths may have been targeted by the mafia for allegedly being involved in a robbery.
