Catanzaro celebrates 50th anniversary of historic Serie A promotion

The Catanzaro Club Massimo Palanca in Bologna organised a membership enrolment event on 25 June 2026 to launch the 2026/27 campaign. The gathering marked the 50th anniversary of the club’s 1976 promotion to Serie A, featuring a live link with former star Massimo Palanca, a display of historic Panini football cards, and the sale of new club t‑shirts.

During the same celebrations, the association Catanzaro nel Pallone presented the 11th Umberto Sacco prize to former midfielder Gianni Improta. Improta reflected on the 1976 achievement, recalling the team’s determination and expressing his lasting ties to the club.
