Catanzaro close to signing Udinese forward Simone Pafundi

Udinese and Serie B side Catanzaro have reached an agreement for the 2006‑born forward Simone Pafundi to join the club on a temporary basis. The deal is a loan with an option for Catanzaro to buy, while Udinese retains a counter‑option that lets them regain the player’s registration if needed. The only remaining step is the official call from Catanzaro’s management to complete the transfer.

Pafundi, who previously featured for Udinese’s first team and spent loan spells at Lausanne and Sampdoria, is seen as a promising talent after early national‑team call‑ups. Sporting director Ciro Polito confirmed that negotiations are now finalised and hinted that the club may still explore additional signings, but the focus remains on giving Pafundi a platform to develop in the Serie B environment.
