Catanzaro Court dismisses appeals in Reset trial and acquits woman of stalking

The Court of Appeal in Catanzaro has declared appeals from the District Anti-Mafia Directorate (Dda) inadmissible in the Reset trial. The court ruled that the Dda's appeals were filed only in paper format, failing to follow the required electronic procedure. This procedural error resulted in the dismissal of appeals against several defendants, including Marcello Manna, who had previously been acquitted in the first instance by the Cosenza collegial court.

In a separate legal matter, the Court of Catanzaro acquitted a woman, identified as G. C., of stalking charges stemming from a family dispute. The prosecution also requested her acquittal after an investigation revealed that the evidence was insufficient to support a conviction. The defense successfully highlighted contradictions between the initial complaint and the testimonies provided during the trial, leading the judge to rule that responsibility could not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
