Catanzaro Hospital launches ‘Villaggi del Sorriso’ summer projects for kids

On July 30, a press conference was held at the Ciaccio Hospital of the Renato Dulbecco University Hospital in Catanzaro to unveil the “Villaggi del Sorriso” summer initiative, organized by the local Association TDDM. The program introduces two themed villages for pediatric patients: the marine‑themed “Baia della Felicità” and the mountain‑themed “Parco Avventure del Sorriso”. Activities include creative workshops, games, music, storytelling and interactive installations designed to make hospital stays more enjoyable for children and their families.

The villages are part of the ongoing “Ospedale Allegro” project, aiming to bring play and socialization into clinical settings. Funding for this edition comes from the European Union’s Next Generation EU – PNRR programme (project COLIBRI). The initiative is intended to brighten the summer months for young patients across the hospital’s wards.
