Catanzaro Mayor highlights economic impact of major events

Catanzaro Mayor Nicola Fiorita has highlighted the success of recent large-scale events in the city, specifically citing the Jova Summer Party concert as one of the largest in the city's history. The concert attracted approximately 30,000 people, generating significant economic activity and leading to high occupancy rates for local hotels and B&Bs.

Fiorita noted that these events, which also include the Giro d'Italia and the Olympic flame, are part of a strategic political choice to combat the city's isolation and revitalize its image. The administration aims to use these gatherings to build a tourism vocation and re-establish Catanzaro as a central hub for major cultural and musical spectacles, supported by the Calabria Region.
