Catanzaro night work in Sansinato tunnel eases daytime traffic

From 9 July to 11 July 2026, construction in the Sansinato tunnel on the SS 280 in Catanzaro will be confined to night‑time hours. All works will stop at 6:00 a.m., allowing normal daytime traffic flow on the main road.

Despite the night‑time schedule, several restrictions remain in place. The exit ramp from SS 109 Bis onto SS 280 toward Lamezia Terme at kilometre 19.485 stays closed, with traffic diverted to Via Lucrezia della Valle and a possible turn‑around at the Catanzaro Sala roundabout. Between kilometre 19.400 and 19.485 on SS 109 Bis, the carriageway stays narrowed, the overtaking lane closed, and a speed limit of 30 km/h enforced.
