Catanzaro pushes university courses into historic centre

Giorgio Ventura, president of the ‘A Filanda’ association, backs the “Università al Centro” project, arguing that relocating university activities to Catanzaro’s historic centre will revitalize the area, foster cultural exchange and boost the local economy.

University Magna Graecia rector Prof. Giovanni Cuda notes that the university already runs Sports Sciences and Psychology programmes in the city centre and is awaiting accreditation for a new primary‑education degree. He urges the municipal administration to provide suitable premises for teaching, citing the example of Cosenza where the council offered historic buildings for university use.
