Catarina Simão reveals daughter's juvenile idiopathic arthritis diagnosis
Entrepreneur and former reality TV participant Catarina Simão has disclosed that her two-year-old daughter, Lua, has been diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis, a chronic condition without a known cure.
During an appearance on the program ‘Júlia’, Simão described the difficult diagnostic process, noting that the child began limping and experiencing pain. After several inconclusive hospital visits, the family underwent a two-week hospitalization to differentiate between septic arthritis and juvenile idiopathic arthritis.
The condition has already affected multiple joints, including the knees, and has the potential to spread to the elbows and arms. Lua is currently undergoing treatment that includes weekly injections and requires frequent hospital visits and follow-up MRI scans.
