Cateno De Luca calls for more mayors in Parliament

Cateno De Luca, leader of Sud chiama Nord and Mayor of Taormina, has called for more local mayors to enter Parliament to bring practical territorial expertise to national and regional institutions. Speaking at a PD event in Villarosa, Enna, De Luca argued that effective local administrators often pose a threat to traditional political structures.

De Luca stated that mayors who achieve concrete results and demonstrate strong administrative skills can disrupt existing political balances. He suggested that these leaders are often viewed as a nuisance by those entrenched in party politics, asserting that capable mayors should have a greater presence in legislative assemblies to better represent the needs of their communities.
