Caterina Ferro files complaint after sexist verbal attack

Caterina Ferro, the budget assessor for the municipality of San Marco in Lamis in the province of Foggia, has filed a formal complaint with the Carabinieri following a sexist verbal attack. The incident occurred on September 6 while Ferro was parking her car near a church.

Ferro reported that an individual shouted vulgar and sexist insults at her, targeting both her political role and her gender. The assessor stated that while public officials must accept criticism and political disagreement, such discourse should not cross the line into personal attacks on dignity. She emphasized her decision to report the incident to set an example and maintain the boundary between legitimate dissent and personal aggression.
