Caterpillar Inc. and CoreWeave Inc. are collaborating to advance physical AI, a technology designed to allow machinery to perceive and interact with its environment. This development aims to address productivity declines and skilled operator shortages within the construction industry.

Unlike the mining sector, where environments are relatively stable, the construction industry presents highly variable and unstructured environments. To adapt autonomous systems to these conditions, companies are utilizing AI clouds to ingest telemetry and vision data, simulating scenarios millions of times to accelerate the machine learning process.
