Caterpillar has announced a $1 billion investment to construct a new manufacturing facility in Sanford, North Carolina. The project is designed to expand the production of compact track loaders and telehandlers to meet rising demand within the company’s ‘Cat Compact’ strategy.

The new facility will utilize advanced manufacturing technologies, including automation, robotics, digital production systems, and integrated logistics. This investment is supported by $85 million in local incentives and is expected to create approximately 1,950 jobs.
