Cath Bowie sets Guinness World Record as oldest female Fortnite streamer

Cath Bowie, a 78-year-old woman from Aberdeen, Scotland, has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the oldest female Fortnite streamer. Using the Twitch username ‘grumpygran1948’, she has built a community of over 24,000 followers.

Bowie’s journey began in 2017 after watching her grandson play the game. She started streaming on Twitch in 2018, motivated in part by a family challenge after her grandson doubted anyone would watch her play. Her achievement is featured in the Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition 2027.

Bowie, who describes herself as a ‘Fortniter’ rather than a traditional gamer, emphasizes that age should not be a barrier to participating in gaming culture. She continues to stream regularly, often playing for several hours a day.
