Cath Bowie sets Guinness World Record as oldest female Fortnite streamer

Cath Bowie, a 78-year-old Scottish grandmother known online as ‘Grumpygran1948’, has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s oldest female Fortnite streamer.

Bowie began playing Fortnite in 2017 after being introduced to the game by her teenage grandson. Motivated by her grandson’s skepticism that anyone would watch an elderly woman stream, she turned the doubt into a challenge. She has since built a community of over 24,000 followers on platforms like Twitch and YouTube, where she streams daily.

Her achievement is featured in the ‘Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition 2027’. The developer of Fortnite, Epic Games, also acknowledged her milestone, describing her as a ‘goat’. Bowie noted that she enjoys the game’s competitive nature and the global community of players she connects with across the UK, US, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia.
