Cathay Pacific and Air Canada extend Middle East flight suspensions
Major international airlines are extending flight suspensions to the Middle East due to ongoing regional instability and conflict.
Cathay Pacific has announced that its passenger services to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, will remain cancelled through January 31, 2027. The airline is also reviewing the timing for resuming its cargo freighter services to these locations. Affected passengers have been offered options to rebook, divert, or receive refunds.
Air Canada has similarly extended its cancellations, suspending its Toronto-to-Dubai route until at least the end of March 2027. This decision leaves the Canadian national carrier without any active flights to the Middle East. The airline cited safety and operational evaluations following regional military strikes as the basis for the extension.
