Cathie Wood predicts Bitcoin could reach $1.5 million by 2030

Cathie Wood, founder of Ark Invest, has updated her long-term price targets for Bitcoin, suggesting the cryptocurrency could reach $1.5 million per coin by 2030. Wood noted that while stablecoins like USDT have taken over the role of protecting against inflation and currency devaluation in emerging markets, Bitcoin is evolving into a different type of asset, often referred to as digital gold. She anticipates that younger generations will increasingly diversify into digital gold rather than physical gold.

In Ark Invest’s Big Ideas 2026 report, the firm also forecasts that annual investment in data centers will triple to $1.5 trillion by 2030, a projection driven by the ongoing artificial intelligence boom. Other ambitious forecasts from the firm include a potential 60x growth in rocket demand based on the concept of space-based computing. However, analysts have noted that while some projections like data center spending are grounded in current trends, others, such as the space-based compute demand, may be more speculative.
