Salta hosts massive procession for Lord and Virgin of the Miracle

The city of Salta, Argentina, hosted a massive religious procession in honor of the Lord and the Virgin of the Miracle. Estimates indicate that between 680,000 and 800,000 faithful participated in the event, which included a march from the Basilica Cathedral to the 20 de Febrero Monument.

During the central ceremony, attendees renewed the historic ‘Pacto de Fidelidad’ (Pact of Fidelity) with the patron saints. Archbishop Mario Cargnello presided over the event, delivering a message focused on social peace, the importance of family, and the need to combat drug use and corruption.

The festivities also generated significant economic and tourism activity for the province. Official data reported approximately 36,490 visitors between September 12 and 15, with hotel occupancy reaching a peak of 85% in the capital city.
