Catholic archdioceses in Peru hold workshops on family and marriage

Catholic archdioceses in Peru are conducting educational programs focused on marriage and family life. In Lima, the Commission for Family and Life concluded a cycle of twelve formative workshops that began in June. Approximately one thousand participants, including families, couples, and pastoral agents, attended sessions held across various parishes and schools. The workshops addressed topics such as sexuality, communication, and parental responsibility, aiming to strengthen pastoral accompaniment through the Gospel.

In Arequipa, the Archdiocese is hosting a three-day course titled ‘The Family: From Pope John Paul II to Pope Leo XIV’ at the San Juan Bautista parish in Yanahuara. The program reviews Church teachings on marriage from the 1994 ‘Letter to Families’ by John Paul II through to the current pontificate of Leo XIV. This initiative serves as part of the ‘Strengthening the Family’ pastoral program and precedes the upcoming apostolic visit of Pope Leo XIV to Peru, scheduled for November.
