Catholic Church events held in Recife and Nova Trento

The Diocese of São José dos Campos is participating in the XVIII National Eucharistic Congress (CEN) in Recife, Pernambuco, scheduled for November 11 to 15. Led by Dom Cesar Teixeira, the delegation includes clergy, religious figures, and laity, as well as the Bishop of Caraguatatuba, Dom José Carlos Chacorowski. The event, themed ‘Bread on every table,’ aims to address social contrasts in the Northeast region. Activities include celebrations at the Arena de Pernambuco and the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, alongside symposia and exhibitions.

In Nova Trento, Santa Catarina, the Pastoral da Comunicação (Pascom) of the CNBB Regional South 4 held its annual meeting from October 16 to 18. The gathering focused on the challenges of digital communication and the impact of artificial intelligence on the Church's mission. Bishop Francisco Carlos Bach of Joinville and Bishop Amilton Manoel da Silva of Guarapuava addressed the participants, emphasizing the need for transparency, human dignity, and the importance of maintaining human relationships within digital spaces.
