Catholic Church holds mass for human trafficking victims in Buenos Aires
The Catholic Church is holding a mass in Buenos Aires' Plaza Constitución to support victims of human trafficking and social exclusion. Presided over by Archbishop Jorge Ignacio García Cuerva, the event follows a tradition established in 2008 by then-Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio.
The day includes an inclusion fair featuring various social organizations presenting productive projects. This initiative aims to highlight the plight of vulnerable groups, including migrants, refugees, and those living in precarious conditions.
In recent statements, Pope Leo XIV emphasized that geopolitical instability and armed conflicts create fertile ground for traffickers to exploit the displaced and vulnerable, noting that women and children are most severely affected.
