Catholic Church in Brazil observes month of vocations and family

The Catholic Church in Brazil is observing a month dedicated to vocations, highlighted by several regional religious events and reflections.

The 5th Brazilian Vocational Congress, themed ‘Vocational Communities: Encounter, Testimony, and Mission,’ aims to gather representatives nationwide to strengthen vocational culture. The event emphasizes the importance of spiritual accompaniment and the role of communities in helping individuals discern their calling through encounters with Christ and others.

In the Archdiocese of Vitória, the National Family Week was celebrated with the theme ‘Family, become what you are,’ aligning with the anniversaries of Pope Francis’s ‘Amoris Laetitia’ and Pope John Paul II’s ‘Familiaris Consortio.’ The celebrations included the ‘Romaria das Famílias,’ a pilgrimage from the Sanctuary of the Divine Holy Spirit in Vila Velha to the Convento da Penha, concluding with a Mass presided over by Archbishop Dom Ângelo Ademir Mezzari.
