Catholic Church leaders address mission and community in Poland
During the VIII New Evangelization Congress in Sosnowiec, Bishop Artur Ważny delivered a sermon emphasizing the Church's role as a tool for unity. Using the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice as a theological metaphor, he described Jesus Christ as a modern Orpheus who rescues humanity from sin. Ważny urged believers to move beyond passive observation and actively serve as instruments of God, warning against personal improvisations that distort the Church's true nature.
In a separate religious event, Bishop Andrzej Jeż dedicated the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen in Gródek nad Dunajcem to God. The consecration marked the 30th anniversary of the parish's establishment. The temple was built over several decades through the collective financial contributions and physical labor of the local community, which consists of approximately 700 people.
