Catholic Church leaders hold meetings on synodality and social issues
The Catholic Church is engaging in various theological and administrative discussions across different regions. In Brazil, the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil (CNBB) is hosting a meeting of the Pastoral Episcopal Council (Consep) in Brasília. The council, which includes the CNBB Presidency and commission leaders, is meeting to analyze the country's social, political, and economic situation. Key agenda items include the reception of Synod indications regarding synodality in Brazil, preparations for the 63rd General Assembly in 2027, and studies on Catholic schools.
In Portugal, the third edition of the 'Passos Sinodais' sessions will feature Julieta Mendes Dias, a religious sister from the Institute of the Sacred Heart of Mary. The online event focuses on her work in theology, formation, social work, and the role of women within the Church. The session is designed to facilitate conversation and debate regarding the ongoing synodal process of the Catholic Church.
