Catholic Church Marks August as Month of Catechists

The Catholic Church has issued a document designating August as a month for the spiritual renewal of catechists. The guide urges catechists to reflect on their vocation, draw on the teachings of Pope Leo XIV and other magisterial sources, and deepen their personal relationship with Christ before beginning catechetical work.

On 2 August, the Diocese of Sicuani held a “Jornada de Catequistas,” gathering catechists, families and married couples for Eucharistic adoration, formation sessions, a procession invoking the Virgin Mary, and a Mass celebrated by Bishop César Huerta Ramírez. The event was coordinated by Sor Claritza Acuña with support from the Pastoral Universitaria, aiming to strengthen the commitment of those teaching the faith.
