Catholic Church observes Missionary Month in Brazil

The Catholic Church is observing Missionary Month throughout October, a period dedicated to prayer, reflection, and the strengthening of evangelization efforts. In Brazil, the Missionary Campaign is organized by the Pontifical Mission Societies (POM) in partnership with the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil (CNBB).

The month includes several significant dates, such as the feast of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux on October 1 and World Mission Day on the penultimate Sunday of the month. World Mission Day involves solidarity collections in parishes to support vulnerable mission territories. For 2026, the campaign theme is “One in Christ, united in mission.”

In Minas Gerais, Salesian novices from the Barbacena Curatorium participated in the Missionary Rosary under the theme “Hearts Without Borders.” The prayer focused on intentions for youth and people across five continents—Africa, the Americas, Europe, Oceania, and Asia—specifically those facing poverty and vulnerability.
