Catholic Church observes September as Month of the Bible

September is designated as the Month of the Bible within the Catholic Church, a tradition intended to encourage the faithful to engage with the Sacred Scriptures through prayer and meditation.

The month is dedicated to the Bible for two primary reasons. First, September 30 marks the feast of Saint Jerome, the patron saint of biblical scholars and translators, who is credited with creating the Vulgate, the Latin translation of the Bible. Second, the month serves as a period for believers to integrate the Word of God into their daily lives as a spiritual guide.

In Guadalajara, the Archdiocese has released the September 2026 Monthly Missal, which is available for free download in PDF format to assist parishioners in participating in daily Eucharistic celebrations.
