Catholic clergy hold meetings and spiritual preparations in Croatia

In the Gospić-Senj Diocese, priests gathered on September 7, 2026, for a monthly recollection and a session of the Presbyteral Council. A central part of the meeting involved a presentation by Dr. Željko Blagus regarding the first encyclical of Pope Leo XIV, titled ‘Magnifica humanitas’. The council also addressed pastoral updates, personnel changes, and the management of diocesan assets, including the potential return of property in Gajnice.

Additionally, preparations are underway for the commemoration of the Day of Croatian Martyrs at Udbina, scheduled for September 12, 2026.

In the Dubrovnik Diocese, spiritual preparations for the feast of Mala Gospa continued in Gospino Polje. During a three-day devotional period, priest Don Ivo Markić led reflections on the theme of Mary as a wanderer, using biblical examples to encourage believers to find peace through the sacraments and to perform small acts of service in daily life.
