Catholic clergy in Argentina and Chile honor Saint John Vianney on August 4‑5

On 4 August, Archbishop Jorge Lozano of the Archdiocese of San Juan de Cuyo (Argentina) addressed a letter to priests, recalling the memory of Saint John Vianney, the Cura of Ars, and urging them to embrace their vocation with love and service.

The following day, the Diocese of Rancagua (Chile) will celebrate the Day of the Parish Priest with a prayer and fellowship gathering at the Centro Mariápolis de Cunaco. The event, organized by Father Robinson Piña, will include a Holy Mass, a communal lunch, and a call for parishioners to support their priests through prayer and active collaboration. Both celebrations highlight Saint John Vianney’s legacy as the patron saint of priests and aim to strengthen priestly communion in the region.
