Catholic community groups hold summer formation and pilgrimage events in Italy

Various Catholic community groups in Italy held formative and communal events during August.

In the Diocese of Catanzaro-Squillace, members of Azione Cattolica gathered at the Sanctuary of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Torre di Ruggiero. The gathering focused on studying the encyclical ‘Magnifica Humanitas,’ aiming to translate spiritual reflection into concrete social commitment, particularly for the marginalized and oppressed. The event included spiritual guidance from Don Giovanni Mazzillo and Don Antonio Severino, with contributions from Mons. Claudio Maniago.

Meanwhile, the Parrocchia Gesù Redentore in Sant’Antonio Abate organized several summer activities for its community. These included scout camps from August 1 to 10, a pilgrimage to Medjugorje from August 22 to 26, and a youth camp in Ovindoli from August 27 to 30. The parish described these diverse experiences as a unified path toward rediscovering faith through prayer, communion, and service.
