Catholic Diocese of Enugu launches CCGG governance initiative

The Catholic Diocese of Enugu has introduced the Church for Community Care and Good Governance (CCGG) initiative. Established by the Catholic Institute for Development, Justice and Peace (CIDJAP), the program aims to promote responsible leadership, civic education, and community development within Enugu State.

Project Lead Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Longinus Ugonwa stated that the non-partisan initiative seeks to bridge the gap between religious faith and societal needs. The CCGG will focus on several key areas, including healthcare, education, infrastructure, security, employment, and youth development. The program is designed to encourage citizens to participate actively in governance and demand accountability from elected officials.

To engage the public, the initiative will utilize various media platforms, such as podcasts, radio programs, documentaries, and social media. The goal is to foster constructive dialogue between citizens and political leaders, helping individuals make informed decisions based on evidence rather than political personalities.
