Catholic dioceses in Brazil hold regional pastoral and health meetings

The Archdiocese of Ribeirão Preto held the second session of its 16th Pastoral Assembly on August 29 at Colégio Auxiliadora. The event gathered at least 350 participants, including priests, deacons, and lay delegates, to focus on synodal spirituality. Archbishop Dom Moacir Silva discussed the history of pastoral action in Brazil and the 2026–2032 Evangelization Guidelines. The session utilized the ‘Conversa no Espírito’ methodology, organizing participants into 24 working groups to discuss themes of spirituality, communion, leadership formation, mission, and listening.

In a separate event, the Diocese of Osasco conducted its Diocesan Health Ministry Meeting at the Mariápolis Center in Vargem Grande Paulista. The gathering focused on the theme of compassion in caring for the sick. The program included lectures on compassion and medical presentations regarding cardiovascular disease prevention by specialists. The meeting, presided over by Bishop Dom João Bosco, aimed to train agents in health prevention, prayer, and the spiritual dimensions of caring for others.
