Catholic priests in Bac Ninh and Ha Tinh conclude annual retreats

Priests from the Bac Ninh and Ha Tinh dioceses in Vietnam concluded their 2026 annual spiritual retreats on October 30, 2026.

In the Bac Ninh Diocese, 173 priests participated in a retreat held at the Hai Phong Diocesan Pastoral Center. Bishop John Baptist Nguyen Quoc Hung of the Qui Nhon Diocese guided the sessions, focusing on the theme of living a missionary vocation through the light of the Gospel of Luke. The retreat emphasized spiritual renewal, conversion, and five key pillars for missionary identity: readiness to proclaim the Gospel, centering service on God, serving as neighbors to all, faithful stewardship of parishes, and reflecting God's mercy. The event concluded with a thanksgiving Mass presided over by Bishop Joseph Do Quang Khang.

In the Ha Tinh Diocese, the clergy concluded their retreat with a Mass where priests reaffirmed their faith and priestly promises of devotion and obedience to the Bishop. Bishop Louis Nguyen Anh Tuan provided exhortations, calling for Christ to remain central to their ministry and for the renewal of service methods. Following the spiritual retreat, the clergy held a meeting to review pastoral activities from the past year and establish strategic directions for the upcoming year.
