Catholic religious educators and female orders focus on spiritual formation

In the Archdiocese of Gniezno, inter-deanery formation meetings are being held for teachers of religion, including laypeople, priests, and religious sisters. Organized by the Catechetical Department of the Metropolitan Curia in Gniezno as part of the Archdiocesan Eucharistic Congress, ‘With Broken Bread in Hands’, these sessions aim to deepen Eucharistic life and address contemporary challenges in school religious instruction.

The meetings, held in locations such as Gniezno, Witkowo, and Mogilno, include prayer, discussion of new teaching programs, and the exchange of pedagogical experiences. Future sessions are scheduled for November 2026 in Inowrocław and Września, with further meetings planned for spring 2027.

Separately, Mother Radosława Podgórska, the new chair of the Conference of Superiors of Female Religious Congregations, has highlighted the significant potential of female religious orders. She emphasized their role in providing spiritual accompaniment and leading retreats in a fast-paced world. Podgórska called for a greater presence of sisters within the Church, particularly in diocesan pastoral councils, to better serve those seeking silence and prayer.
