Catholic Schools NSW sacks CEO Dallas McInerney
Catholic Schools NSW has terminated its chief executive, Dallas McInerney, following his testimony at an Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) hearing. McInerney had led the organization for nearly ten years.
The ICAC investigation, known as Operation Rosny, alleges that McInerney may have violated donation laws by diverting up to $265,000 in school funding to two companies, Beckington and JPG Advisory, through sham invoices. Investigators claim these funds were used to support ‘The Reformers’, a conservative Christian sub-faction of the Liberal Party, via kickbacks and direct payments rather than for legitimate services.
The Reformers aimed to recruit 5,000 members to influence political preselections. While McInerney has denied knowledge of the scheme, he was also accused on Wednesday of destroying evidence relevant to the inquiry.
