Catholic spiritual renewal events held in Rome and Split

The St. Jerome Croatian Institute in Rome held its monthly spiritual renewal for members on May 16. The event served as a conclusion to the academic year and included a farewell to the Sisters of Mercy. Led by Father Alan Modrić, the program featured personal prayer, reflection, and the sacrament of reconciliation, culminating in a Holy Mass presided over by Rector Marko Đurin.

During the homily, Father Modrić discussed the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord. He emphasized how these gifts guide individuals toward a deeper connection with God.

Separately, the prayer communities ‘Guadalupe’ from Split and ‘Sluge beskorisne’ from Zagreb have announced a three-day spiritual renewal titled ‘Lord’s Faithfulness’. Scheduled for September 25–27, 2026, at the monastery on Kamen in Split, the retreat will be led by Jesuit Father Hrvoje Mravak. The program includes daily Mass, Eucharistic adoration, and spiritual talks, with specific accommodations provided for families with young children.
